Author Details

Yongwan Chun is an assistant professor of geospatial information science at The University of Texas at Dallas. He earned a PhD in geography and a master’s degree in statistics from The Ohio State University. His research aims at developing quantitative methods for spatial analysis and modeling. Particularly, his research interests lie in spatial statistics and GIS focusing on urban and economic issues including population migration, commuting, and urban crime. His papers have been published in Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Cartography and Geographic Information Science, Journal of Geographical Systems, and Journal of Urban Affairs among others.

 

Daniel A. Griffith, an Ashbel Smith Professor of geospatial information science at the University of Texas at Dallas, has published 17 books and over 200 scholarly pieces appearing in geography, statistics, mathematics, economics, and regional science journals and other outlets. He served as editor of Geographical Analysis from 2009 to 2014. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Guggenheim Foundation, the Regional Science Association International, the Spatial Econometrics Association, and the New York Academy of Sciences. His current research interests include spatial statistics, spatial epidemiology, urban public health, and economic geography.
